A mammoth gathering of over one lakh people from all over India and abroad assembled at Brigade Parade Ground here last evening for observing “An Evening to Receive God’s Blessings”.

This mega spiritual congregation convened by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya provided a taste of inner peace, powers and spiritual blessings to thousands of people through a series of divine discourses, mass meditation, cultural presentation of Eastern India’s folk songs & dances and laser show on the central theme “Call of Time”.

His Excellency Viren J. Shah, Governor of West Bengal addressing the huge gathering of peace lovers, as chief guest said that self transformation which is the basis of world transformation could bring peace in the self and society.

He said that when the world was reeling under the crises of terrorism, casteism, religious discrimination, economic deprivation, social exploitation, environmental pollution etc., development of mental, moral and spiritual powers through the practice of spiritual wisdom, values, dedication and selfless services were imperative to tide over these problem and to usher in peace and progress in society.

Opening the institution’s book Gyan Sarita in Bengali language, the Governor said that spiritual knowledge, human values, rajyoga meditation, character building and healthy life styles as being taught and practiced by the institution would work towards making India a great, prosperous and ideal country.

Mr. Tapan Sikdar, Union Minister of State for Small Scale Industries felicitating Chief Rajyogini Dadiji of the institution said that acculturation and humanisation of civilisation from individual level to family, state, country and global levels were being under taken by the Brahma Kumaris organisation to bring world peace and brotherhood through its teachings on value education, spiritual concentration and meditation.

Blessing the occasion Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, the Chief of Brahma Kumaris said that the practice of Rajyoga Meditation, spiritual knowledge, sattwic diet and positive life style could bring about real peace in the self by eliminating inner vices which were route cause of peacelessness and suffering.

Showering her Godly blessings on the audience, Rajyogini Dadi Janki, the overseas Chief of Brahma Kumaris said that to receive God’s blessings the seeker needed to have proper inclination and determination to overcome worldly desires and attachments which brought sorrow and suffering to the self.

The Bishop of Kolkata Rt. Rev. P.S.P. Raju welcoming and greeting the Chief Rajyogini Dadijis of Brahma Kumaris said that through meditation, sharing and by relating to each other one could get God’s blessings.

At the end, colourful laser show on the theme “Call of Time” enthralled the audience while devotional songs and music by noted singer Sushant and his musical group and also by Mrs. Sabita Mohapatra entertained the congregation earlier.
