Nuances of Relationships

We are afraid to care too much, for fear that the other person does not care at all… Eleanor Roosevelt

Our lives revolve around the relationships inherited by birth as well as the ones we make after birth. Throughout our lives, we struggle hard to maintain relationships. Yet we cannot achieve a perfect balance in our relations, be it personal or professional. The reasons for this are many.

Most of the reasons are very common. When we think about them we realize that silly and funny reasons made our relations sour. We all live a fast-paced life where we get busy accumulating financial assets and physical comforts. We hardly find time to sit back and think where our relationships are heading. Material belongings are devoid of meaning if there is no peace or happiness within. Today our companions are smart gadgets, material belongings & social status. We are gradually getting transformed into machines with no heart, feelings or emotions. As a result, our relationships have become strained.

Nurture your relationships & handle them with utmost care. It’s too painful an experience when a person we know becomes a person we knew.

Whether its friendship or relationship, all bonds are built on trust.   Remain safe from the dreadful habit – assumption.  It creates mistrust leading to suspicion, anger, enmity & finally separation. Refrain from playing the blame game. It’s the biggest hindrance in maintaining good relations. Take responsibility and accept mistakes rather than create an environment of hatred for each other.

A relationship is like a house. When a light bulb burns out, we don’t buy a new house. We fix the bulb and move on. The same applies to our relationships. We keep nursing our egos to such an extent that it leads to  misunderstanding. Having an easy & cooperative nature will help us to be flexible and humble. An easy person would get along with everyone and create harmonious relationships.

We also forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge. Mistakes can be overlooked but the actions performed in anger will bother us forever. Make an effort to nurture them, rather than losing them on trivial matters.

Supreme Almighty has the capacity to fulfill all relationships with us. When we experience the relations of a father, teacher, companion and friend with Him, it becomes easy to give love to other human beings. A real relationship has trust, faith, patience,  secrets and above all love. So, love all and get loved in return by all. This is the key to positive & peaceful living.
