Sometimes in life, we can sense that we're moving in a new direction and that a decision of some sort needs to be made. But making that decision can be quite challenging. We need to make sure we're making the decision from a place of the soul and our conscience, rather than from a place of discontentment, wanting to get away, or trying to escape.
There are three things that can help you when making a decision. One of the first is silence. Imagine now that you feel yourself high up on a mountain, miles and miles away from the world of drama, from any decision that needs to be made, and from any roles that you play. It's a mountaintop awareness, meaning you feel high, high above everything. Just like when you're on a beautiful mountain and all you can see are the clouds, and all you can hear is the silence around you. Allow your soul to enter that space of lightness, of spiritual energy. Nothing to do, nowhere to be. Just pure, restful silence.
Silence is essential every day if I'm going to make a good decision, because it cleans the mind of all the rubbish that keeps me from seeing clearly. A clean mind is essential to making a good decision. Allow all the other voices and opinions about what you should do with your life to disappear as you enter deeply into the quiet, feeling completely free and light. Silence is only a thought away. I just have to remember to create it daily.
The second thing that helps is moving in the direction of my new decision. If you feel the boat of your life is moving in a new direction, allow yourself to lean in that direction and see how it feels. If you're thinking of getting a new job, make some phone calls. Explore some options. See if the door is open or shut. If you feel you need to try a new hobby or explore your artistic interests, take a class. Do something small instead of feeling frozen or feeling like you have to make a huge decision. Just begin to do small things to lean in the direction of the decision you'd like to make, and pay attention to whether life opens up or closes. Pay attention to the signs that come your way.
The third thing is trust. When you make time for silence daily and when you make time to live in alignment with your soul, the universe becomes much more benevolent. It's a magical, simple secret. Trust that the universe will actually reveal the decision to you. You don't have to force it or make it happen. When you become silent and begin to take small steps in the direction of your decision, you can trust in divine timing. The way will become clear when it is supposed to become clear.
And when it does, allow yourself to let go of your fears of failure, of making mistakes, and of not being enough. Allow yourself to go on a grand adventure in a new direction. One of the key signs that the soul is moving in the right direction and making a decision that is in alignment with its higher good is that there will be a peaceful, quiet joy inside. There may be challenges, anxieties, and worries, but there will also be a feeling that this is a good decision, that it feels right. And when the decision comes from the soul rather than from discontentment, a path of potential is guaranteed to unfold and reveal itself.
