On October 17, 2026, the Brahma Kumaris hosted an inspiring Food & Soul session that offered participants a refreshing perspective on the deeper significance of food and its connection with spiritual well-being.
As beautifully expressed in the event invitation, “Come savor these wholesome creations, thoughtfully prepared to nourish the body and uplift the spirit.”
The session highlighted that food is much more than the ingredients used or the methods of preparation. Participants explored how the thoughts, feelings, and consciousness of the person preparing food can influence its subtle energy. When food is prepared with peace, love, purity, and good wishes, it becomes more than physical nourishment—it also serves as sustenance for the soul, the living energy within.
Heartfelt gratitude was extended to BK Poyen for sharing this practical and enlightening understanding of the spiritual connection between food and consciousness. Special appreciation was also expressed to four fellow meditation practitioners, BKs Tess, Preeti, Ellen, and Marivic, whose love for preparing food inspired and made this meaningful service possible. Although none of them came from a professional culinary background, their sincerity, dedication, and positive consciousness were the true ingredients behind every dish.
The gathering also brought together enthusiastic food adventurers who took time to nourish both body and soul through this unique experience of learning and self-discovery. Participants enjoyed tasting each of the featured recipes, which together formed a complete and satisfying meal.
The experience left everyone with fresh inspiration and practical ideas to bring into their own kitchens, especially as they prepare to share meals with family members and friends during the upcoming holiday season. The session encouraged participants to recognize food preparation as an opportunity to practise mindfulness, cultivate elevated thoughts, and share love and good wishes through every meal.
The central message of the gathering was both simple and profound: Food nourishes the body, while elevated thoughts nourish the soul. Together, they create a feast of well-being.
Through this meaningful initiative, participants were reminded that every meal can become an expression of care, peace, and spiritual awareness, uplifting not only those who prepare it but also everyone who partakes of it.
