On Sunday, 13th September 2026, Global Cooperation House in London hosted a special in-person Dynamic Conversation on “Reclaim Peace and Renew Purpose” from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The event took place at Global Cooperation House, 65 Pound Lane, Willesden, London NW10 2HH, as a contribution to the UN International Day of Peace 2026.
The special conversation brought together Sister Jayanti, Additional Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris, and Cllr Tushar Kumar, Mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood. They spoke about how spiritual understanding, self-reflection and good community leadership can help create a more peaceful world.
Sister Jayanti shared a powerful message:
“The goodness of God has to succeed. Bring in the light and the darkness will disappear.” She also spoke about the qualities of a good leader, saying, “A leader is one who keeps their word. A leader is one who walks their talk. A leader is one who wants everyone within the community to move forward and progress.”
Speaking about self-reflection, Sister Jayanti encouraged everyone to ask themselves two questions at the end of each day:
“Could I have done something differently?” and “What did I learn today?” She explained that regularly asking these questions can help us improve ourselves and move in a positive direction.
Cllr Tushar Kumar also highlighted the importance of reflection, saying,
“Without reflection you cannot improve.” He shared that spirituality should not be forced on anyone. Instead, sharing our own experiences can inspire others to explore spirituality for themselves.
Sister Jayanti also spoke about the importance of making time for ourselves. She said,
“Making time for the self is a priority to keep my mind healthy and my heart clean and powerful and my brain active and engaged.”
The event provided a meaningful opportunity to reflect on peace, purpose and positive leadership. The conversation encouraged everyone to develop inner peace, learn from their experiences and become a positive influence in their families, communities and society.
The programme carried the message that peace begins within us. When we bring light and peace into our own minds, we can also help create a more peaceful and harmonious world.
