On 4 November 2026, the Brahma Kumaris UK were warmly represented at the Diwali celebrations held at the prestigious Houses of Parliament, London. Organised by the Hindu Forum of Britain, the special gathering brought together parliamentarians, members of the House of Lords, community leaders and representatives of diverse organisations to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
Sister Jaymini from Global Co-operation House, London, represented the Brahma Kumaris at this distinguished occasion and was warmly welcomed by the organisers and guests.
The celebration included the traditional lighting of candles, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness, followed by a beautiful meditation commentary by Sister Jaymini. She shared inspiring reflections on peace, joy and the significance of awakening the inner light, highlighting that the true essence of Diwali lies not only in lighting external lamps but also in illuminating our minds and hearts with purity, love, peace and positive thoughts.
During the gathering, Sister Jaymini had the opportunity to meet and exchange greetings with several distinguished dignitaries, including Bob Blackman MP, Lord Dholakia, Lord Rami Ranger, Lord Dollar Popat, Lord Rook and Deirdre Costigan MP, along with other community and business leaders.
The occasion also provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with long-standing friends and well-wishers of the Brahma Kumaris, including Ricky Sehgal, Chairman and Co-founder of Transputec, and other members of the community.
The gathering served as a meaningful reminder that the true spirit of Diwali extends beyond the lighting of lamps. It is about sharing the light of peace, love and understanding, nurturing meaningful relationships and bringing people from different backgrounds together in a spirit of unity and harmony.
Through such opportunities, the Brahma Kumaris continue to share their message of spiritual awareness, inner transformation and universal brotherhood, contributing towards a more peaceful and harmonious society.
May the light of Diwali continue to inspire unity, goodwill and peace in our communities and across the world.
