An impactful awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was organized by the NMBA Hostel Committee of NIT Rourkela on 2nd November 2025 at VS Hall of Residence. The session focused on the theme ‘Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0’ and aimed to encourage students to embrace a healthier, tobacco-free lifestyle.
The programme featured a highly motivational and practical session by Mr. BK Dhananjay from Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, Rourkela Centre. His talk centered around self-empowerment, mental wellness, and building positive habits, inspiring students to lead a life of discipline and inner strength.

The initiative was coordinated by Prof. Susanta Kumar Bisoi (Nodal Officer, NMBA Hostel Committee), Prof. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (Warden, VS Hall of Residence), and Prof. Tushar Gupta (Assistant Warden, VS Hall of Residence). Their dedicated efforts ensured that the event aligned with the institute’s vision of promoting student welfare and holistic growth.
Special appreciation was extended to Prof. Santosh Kumar Sahoo (Chief Warden, NITR), Prof. Ramakrishna Biswal (Head, Institute Counseling Services), members of the NMBA Hostel Committee, and student volunteers for their active contribution in organizing the meaningful programme.
The session concluded with a collective pledge by all participants — “Say No to Tobacco” — symbolizing their commitment to lead a healthy, conscious, and tobacco-free lifestyle.
The event beautifully integrated spiritual values with practical wellness, reinforcing the message of self-transformation and positive living as advocated by the Brahma Kumaris.
