19th and 20th May 2026, Brahma Kumaris was invited by the IIT Alumni Foundation, an NGO actively working with the State and Central Government towards skill development and vocational training for poor and underprivileged students, to conduct two half-day sessions during their Annual General Meeting held in Gangtok, Sikkim.
The sessions were based on the theme “Nishkama Karm – From Self to Service” and witnessed the participation of around 60 distinguished intellectuals, including ex-IIT alumni, engineers from various colleges, chartered accountants, and ex-army personnel associated with the NGO.
During the interactive sessions, Sisters from Brahma Kumaris shared valuable spiritual insights on performing karm with complete dedication while remaining free from attachment. The importance of Karmyoga in practicing Nishkama Karm was beautifully explained, inspiring the participants to integrate spiritual awareness into their professional and personal lives.
The audience was also introduced to the knowledge and practical experience of Rajyoga Meditation. A guided meditation session was conducted, enabling participants to experience inner peace, mental clarity, and spiritual empowerment. The participants expressed that they felt peaceful, refreshed, and spiritually charged after the meditation experience.
The sessions were well appreciated by the gathering and served as a meaningful contribution towards promoting selfless service, inner wellbeing, and value-based living among professionals and social leaders.
