On 1 September 2026, in New Delhi, the Brahma Kumaris, through the Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation (RERF), took a significant step towards building a more inclusive, dignified and empowered society by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
The MoU was signed for the launch of the Divyang Samanata, Sanrakshan evam Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (DISSSA), an initiative aimed at promoting equality, strengthening protection and empowering persons with disabilities.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, and Shri B. L. Verma, Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment.
Rajyogini BK Asha Didi, Member, Brahma Kumaris Management Committee, signed the MoU on behalf of the Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation (RERF), alongside Shri Vineet Singhal, Director, Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme, representing the Ministry.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing equality, protection, dignity and empowerment of persons with disabilities, contributing towards a society where every individual is respected, valued and given opportunities to live with dignity.
This MoU marks a meaningful step towards strengthening collective efforts for the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society for all.
