Technology has become an important part of our daily lives. We use it for learning, communication, work, entertainment and social interaction. However, too much screen time, excessive use of social media and dependence on digital devices are becoming major concerns, especially among students and working professionals.
To create awareness about these challenges, the Digital Wellness team conducted a series of Digital Wellness sessions at educational institutions and professional platforms in Kolkata.
One of the major programmes was held at Carmel High School, Kolkata, where 820 students and 40 faculty members, a total of 860 participants, took part in the session.
The programme helped students understand that the aim is not to stop using technology, but to learn how to use it in a healthy and balanced way. Students were encouraged to think about their daily screen habits and understand when, why and how they use technology.
The session also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between the digital world and everyday life. The participation of the faculty members was especially valuable, as teachers can play an important role in helping students develop healthy digital habits and creating a balanced learning environment.
The Digital Wellness initiative is an effort to help young people and professionals become more aware of their digital habits and make positive and responsible choices while using technology.
