On 5 July 2026, the Watford Friends Meeting House hosted the inspiring intergenerational Sacred Space event, Ancient Roots, Digital Wings. Organised by the Brahma Kumaris, beautifully facilitated by the Watford Interfaith Association (WIFA), and graciously hosted by the Quakers, the afternoon brought together senior and younger representatives from the Muslim, Hindu, Humanist, and Brahma Kumaris communities for a meaningful dialogue on how faith can guide humanity in the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and technology.
The gathering provided a unique platform for participants to exchange perspectives across generations. Young people shared how AI is making sacred scriptures and spiritual knowledge more accessible and less intimidating, while elders highlighted the importance of grounding technological advancement in timeless wisdom, ethical values, and spiritual awareness.
The programme concluded with inspiring reflections from the Brahma Kumaris. Sister Rachel encouraged everyone to use technology with wisdom, balance, and discretion, ensuring that it remains a supportive tool alongside regular sadhana (spiritual practice) rather than becoming a dependency. Sister Vini emphasised that offering the younger generation pure, unconditional love, meaningful presence, and spiritual support is the most powerful way to help them remain connected to their inner values instead of being completely absorbed by the digital world.
Deputy Mayor Aga Dychton concluded the event with an uplifting message, encouraging everyone to lead by personal example and to preserve compassion, kindness, and genuine human connection as technology continues to shape society.
The event was a heartfelt celebration of interfaith harmony, intergenerational learning, and shared spiritual values. Sincere appreciation is extended to all participants, speakers, organisers, and volunteers whose contributions made this important and timely conversation both meaningful and memorable.
