As part of the Digital Wellness initiative to create awareness about responsible and mindful use of digital technology, a Digital Wellness session was conducted at Hartley's High School, Kolkata, reaching approximately 60 students.
The smaller group provided an opportunity for closer engagement, meaningful interaction and personal reflection. Students were encouraged to observe their own relationship with digital devices and reflect on how conscious choices can help them maintain a healthier and more balanced approach to technology.
The programme emphasized that the message of Digital Wellness is not that “Technology is bad.” Rather, the key message was:
“Technology is powerful. Therefore, it must be used with wisdom.”
Students were encouraged to understand that technology can be a valuable tool for learning, communication, creativity and personal growth when used consciously. At the same time, its benefits can be maximized when individuals learn to exercise self-discipline and make thoughtful choices about how, when and why they use digital devices.
The session highlighted that when students understand this distinction, Digital Wellness moves beyond being a restriction imposed by adults and becomes a form of self-discipline chosen by the individual.
The programme encouraged students to develop greater self-awareness, make responsible digital choices and use technology in a way that supports their well-being, concentration, learning and personal growth.
