As part of the Digital Wellness initiative to create awareness about the challenges associated with excessive and unmindful use of digital technology, the Digital Wellness team conducted a session at Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith, Kolkata.
The programme reached approximately 320 students, providing an opportunity to engage young learners on an issue that directly affects their education, relationships and everyday lives.
The session highlighted that digital platforms can offer tremendous opportunities for learning, creativity and knowledge-sharing. At the same time, uncontrolled consumption can affect concentration and lead to unnecessary comparison, distraction and dependence.
Students were encouraged to become more mindful and responsible digital citizens, understanding the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship with technology. The programme emphasized the need to use digital platforms consciously and ensure that technology remains a tool for personal growth rather than becoming a source of distraction or dependence.
The underlying principle of the session was:
“Use the screen with awareness; do not allow the screen to control awareness.”
The programme encouraged students to develop greater awareness of their digital habits and to make conscious choices that support their education, relationships, concentration and overall well-being.
