The Brahma Kumaris Environment Initiative is participating in the UNCCD COP17 being held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The opening day of COP17 brought together representatives from 197 countries and around 10,000 participants from different parts of the world. The theme of the conference is “Restoring Land. Restoring Hope.”
The conference is focusing on the urgent need to restore degraded land. Nearly 77% of Mongolia’s land is reported to be degraded, making land restoration an important issue for the country.
At the Action Dome, the Brahma Kumaris conducted the first Wellbeing Session. The session highlighted the importance of inner peace, wellbeing and positive thinking in building strength and resilience.
Maria Paula Cervera is representing the Brahma Kumaris Environment Initiative at COP17 in Ulaanbaatar. Through its participation, the Brahma Kumaris is sharing the message that inner wellbeing can inspire positive action for the environment and for our shared home, the Earth.
