8 December 2025, Nairobi — The Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) commenced in the environmental capital of the world with powerful global leadership and a united call to safeguard the planet’s future.

UNEA-7 President Dr. Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Amri opened the first plenary, emphasizing shared global responsibility. He stated that “our common duty is to turn determination into concrete actions for the stability of our planet and the wellbeing of all nations,” highlighting Ambition, Solidarity, and Science as the pillars of success.

UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen welcomed over 6,000 participants from 170 countries, including 79 Ministers and 39 Vice-Ministers, reaffirming UNEA as “the world’s most influential environmental decision-making body, where nations come together to build momentum for sustainable solutions.”

The UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed added a compelling message of urgency:

“In spirit and purpose, we must act with urgency to safeguard the health of our planet and our people.”

The Brahma Kumaris Delegation participated with a strong message promoting values-based, ethical leadership as the foundation of a resilient and sustainable world. The delegation emphasized that inner transformation is essential for outer environmental stability, reinforcing the link between spiritual awareness and global sustainability.
