On 21 June 2026, the District Administration, West Kameng, in collaboration with the District AYUSH Society, organized a grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2026 at the School Auditorium, Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the SSB, 2nd Arunachal Scouts, NDRF, Brahma Kumaris, students, government officials, and members of the public, reflecting the collective commitment towards holistic health and well-being.
The event was inaugurated under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Dilip Kumar, who highlighted this year's International Day of Yoga theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," emphasizing the importance of physical, mental, and emotional well-being through the regular practice of yoga.
Brahma Kumaris contributed to the programme by promoting the spiritual dimensions of health through Rajyoga Meditation, explaining how it empowers individuals to overcome harmful habits by cultivating positive thoughts, inner peace, and elevated awareness. The message reinforced that a peaceful mind and strong values form the foundation of a healthy individual and a progressive society.
An awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was also conducted, encouraging participants to adopt a healthy, disciplined, and addiction-free lifestyle. The celebration inspired the community to embrace yoga, meditation, and value-based living for personal transformation and social well-being
