An impactful awareness programme was organized in Chhattisgarh under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, emphasizing the importance of living a drug-free life. The central message highlighted that change must begin with oneself, extending to our families, friends, communities, and ultimately the entire nation. A collective pledge was taken to contribute towards building a drug-free country.
The event shed light on the grave challenges posed by substance abuse across India, particularly among the youth. Speakers addressed the consequences of addiction, including increased crime rates, broken family ties, reduced economic opportunities, and overall social instability. Discussions also touched upon factors like genetic vulnerability, mental health issues, and dysfunctional family environments, which often lead to higher risks of substance use.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Mr. Vijay Krishna Pandey (ED & HOP, NTPC), Mr. Deepak Rathore (PD, BHEL), Mr. Jaiprakash Satyakam (HR, NTPC), Mr. Chandra Shekhar Gupta (DGM, HR, BHEL), Mrs. Manisha Vanskar (Sarpanch, Sipat), Mr. Gopal Satpathy (Police Station Incharge, Sipat), Mr. Shalabh Nigam (Principal, Bal Bharti NTPC School), Dr. Kamal Chhabra (Lions Club Cabinet Secretary & Senior Social Worker), Mrs. Chandrakali Patle (Janji Sarpanch), Mrs. Rita Rupchand Ratre (Deori Sarpanch), Mrs. Sarita Sahu (Kaudiya Sarpanch), and Mr. Pradeep Pandey (Press Club President). Their presence and words of encouragement strengthened the resolve of participants to stand united against drug abuse.
The programme inspired participants to reflect deeply on their responsibilities and commit themselves to fostering a healthier, safer, and addiction-free society. With such collective efforts, the campaign aims to create a lasting positive impact across the state and beyond.
