On 21 June 2026, the High Commission of India in Kingston, Jamaica, organized a meaningful celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2026, bringing together members of the community to promote health, mindfulness, unity, and holistic well-being. The programme was organized with the support of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA), Indian Diplomacy, the Ministry of AYUSH, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The celebration featured the Common Yoga Protocol session led by experienced yoga instructors, including Ms. Kiran Chatani, Sister Rani of the Brahma Kumaris, and Mr. Stewart Maxwell. Participants enthusiastically practiced yoga and meditation, embracing the universal values of inner peace, harmony, and healthy living.
During the programme, Brahma Kumaris shared the spiritual significance of Rajyoga Meditation, highlighting that the highest purpose of yoga is to create harmony within the self. Through meditation, individuals awaken their original qualities of peace, love, and joy, enabling them to become instruments of positive transformation in society.
A special Yoga Selfie Point attracted enthusiastic participants, who captured memorable moments while celebrating the positive energy and spirit of yoga. The event beautifully demonstrated how yoga continues to unite communities across cultures and nations through health, mindfulness, shared values, and a collective commitment to a balanced and peaceful lifestyle.
