Two inspiring programmes were recently organised in Vladivostok, Russia, showcasing the deep cultural and spiritual ties between India and Russia.
Children's Art Competition:
Under the auspices of the Embassy of India, Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Primorsky Region of Russia, a Children’s Art Competition on the theme “Legends and Myths of Ancient India – The Ramayana Epic” was held. The event took place at the Consulate General of India, Vladivostok, followed by an award ceremony at the Primorsky State Art Gallery.
Mr. Siddarth Gaurav, Consul General of India to Vladivostok, congratulated and highly appreciated the young winners for their creativity and love for Indian culture. BK Alla Sadovnika, Centre Coordinator, warmly greeted the children and their parents. She highlighted the spiritual significance of the Ramayana, explaining: “The heroine Sita symbolizes the soul trapped by defects and weaknesses, while Rama represents the benevolent power that frees the soul from sorrows and sufferings. By focusing on positive qualities within ourselves and others, we contribute to becoming better and to the transformation of the world.”
Many city dignitaries attended the event and acknowledged that the project has become a cultural bridge between the two countries.
“Connecting Times and Countries” – A Musical and Poetic Salon:
Another touching event, “Connecting Times and Countries”, was organised by the Musical and Poetic Salon “Lira” under the direction of BK Olga Smirnova from Moscow. The programme beautifully reflected the cultural kinship of India and Russia.
This meaningful programme was specially dedicated to the Independence Day of India and served as a reminder of the harmonious cultural bond between the two nations.
