On 29th August 2025, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Chennai Anna Nagar Centre organized a large-scale awareness seminar titled “Rise Above Addiction” at DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai, as part of the national initiative Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
Led by Rajyogini BK Beena and BK Jhansi Rani, the program saw the active participation of approximately 50 Brahma Kumaris faculty members, who collectively conducted 150 classroom sessions. Through this structured and impactful outreach, over 12,000 students were engaged in meaningful awareness about the harmful effects of addiction and how to overcome them.
The core objective of the event was to empower young minds to make conscious and positive life choices. Students were educated on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, inner strength, and the role of Rajyoga meditation in achieving freedom from addiction and building mental resilience.
The seminar was part of the Brahma Kumaris’ ongoing commitment to contribute toward a Substance-Free India by addressing youth at the grassroots level through values-based education and spiritual empowerment.
