The 1st Report – Leading up to the UN Climate Change Conference COP30 (10th–21st November 2025, Belém, Brazil)

The first report leading up to COP30 (10–21 November 2025) in Belém, Brazil highlights the urgency of global climate action, especially as the Amazon faces severe degradation with 35% already damaged. COP30 will bring together around 50,000 delegates to discuss pathways to limit global heating to 1.5°C, echoing UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ strong call against fossil fuel industries’ harmful practices.

Brazil, under President Lula da Silva, is emphasizing climate justice through initiatives like the Global Ethical Stocktake (GES), focusing on Indigenous and vulnerable communities. The principle of Mutirão — collective community effort — guides Brazil’s climate leadership strategy.

The Brahma Kumaris, serving as an accredited observer organization, are contributing ethical and spiritual perspectives. Their pre-COP activities include sustainability-focused retreats, lectures in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, community discussions in Serra Negra, and collaborations with NGOs to promote environmental awareness and inner transformation.
