The Brahma Kumaris in Australia is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to spiritual education and Raja Yoga meditation. For over five decades, it has served communities across the country through its network of meditation and spiritual learning centers, inspiring personal growth, inner peace, and positive living.

Seeds of a Spiritual Movement

In the early 1970s, a senior Raja Yoga teacher from Mount Abu, India, visited Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne, sharing the timeless wisdom of Raja Yoga through the Hatha Yoga community. The inspiring response led to the establishment of the first Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centres in Sydney and Melbourne. As interest grew, Dr. Nirmala Kajaria arrived in Australia to guide the expanding community, serving for many years as the Regional Coordinator for the Asia Pacific Region

Visitors are warmly welcomed to experience the serenity of its meditation room, explore a thoughtfully curated bookstore, and connect with experienced volunteers who are always available to offer guidance and support

The Illawarra Brahmakumaris Retreat Centre was established in the year 1999. It is one of the two Brahmakumaris retreat centers located in Sydney, NSW, Australia. The retreat center is also affectionately known as ‘Wilton’. The most loved feature of Wilton are its lush green gardens which have a variety of flora including the veggie garden, orchard and carpet green grounds.

With great determination, immense love and futuristic vision, the Centre has established itself like a jewel in the crown of The Brahma Kumaris in Australia. The Centre can accommodate up to 40 participants for residential retreats.
