Celebrating Dussehra With Divinity

Spiritual Message On Dussehra – October 20th
As we celebrate Dussehra this year, we remember the victory of truth over evil, good over bad, wisdom over ignorance and soul consciousness over body consciousness. It also reminds us of God, who teaches us how to attain victory over our vices, that have been acquired under the influence of body consciousness in some of our births. Let us reflect in this message on how to celebrate Dussehra with divine wisdom in our consciousness –
- 1God is the Supreme Soul, full of seven beautiful virtues - peace, joy, love, bliss, purity, power and wisdom. The more we connect to God through wisdom and meditation, the more we imbibe these seven virtues in us and they begin to transform us positively and we start leaving negative habits easily. God, the Supreme Being, is also called Ram and Ravan is a symbol of our negative habits and bad sanskars. With Ram in our consciousness, we kill the ten headed Ravan inside our consciousness. These ten heads of Ravan are - lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, jealousy, hatred, deceit, stubbornness and laziness.
- 2Also, to kill Ravan we have to send an arrow full of the fire of spirituality and divinity to the navel of Ravan i.e. we have to kill body consciousness from its roots and then none of the ten heads of Ravan will come alive and cause peacelessness and sorrow to enter our lives. Also, the ten heads are symbolic of our negative actions of many births, not only this birth. Ravan has to be killed completely, so that no trace of body consciousness remains in the soul and we become completely pure and divine.
- 3Lastly, God’s pure wisdom helps us understand what vices are and how and when they entered our consciousness. We also learn how to meditate and concentrate our consciousness on God’s consciousness and regain the strength to remove these vices completely and become divine like devi devtas or deities who were full of these seven virtues of God and are loved and respected by everyone immensely. This transformation process is only Dussehra or finishing Ravan through spiritual effort and is followed by Diwali, which is symbolic of the soul becoming illuminated after it fills itself with the seven virtues of God.
