As part of its ongoing Mental Wellness initiatives, Bawa Lalvani Public School, Kapurthala, continued to provide regular counselling, individual well-being support and opportunities for meditation to strengthen the emotional and mental well-being of its school community.
Regular Counselling & Individual Well-being Support
Regular counselling and individual well-being support were provided to students from Forms I to XII and teachers, offering a safe and supportive space to discuss personal, emotional, behavioural, academic and professional concerns.
The counselling process encouraged individuals to understand and manage their concerns, reflect on their experiences and work towards healthier and more constructive responses. Support was also provided in addressing personal and interpersonal conflicts, strengthening emotional resilience and developing inner awareness.
The individualised approach focused on nurturing inner strength, emotional well-being, resilience and constructive problem-solving, according to the needs of each student or teacher.
Daily Gurdwara Meditation — Inner Service for the School
The school’s Gurdwara, located within the campus, provides a natural space for silence, remembrance and inner connection. As part of the school’s inner dimension of service, 30 minutes of conscious meditation from 10:30 to 11:00 AM during the lunch period was encouraged.
The practice offers an opportunity to sit in silence, hold the school, its children, teachers and the entire environment in good wishes, and consciously contribute positive vibrations towards the school community.
Through this practice, school service is viewed not only as something that is done externally, but also as an inner service through one’s state of mind, awareness and positive intentions.
Together, the school’s Mental Wellness initiatives—from Little Zen and Golden Pause to behaviour transformation, Digital Wellness, teacher well-being programmes and Fear to Power—reflect a holistic approach to nurturing well-being across different stages of school life.
These initiatives encourage awareness, healthy habits, mindful responses, positive behaviour, resilience and inner strength, making mental wellness an ongoing part of everyday school life.
Stillness. Awareness. Inner strength. Emotional well-being. Positive living.
