Sister Jayanti was in Warsaw, Poland, on 20 September 2026 to celebrate the International Day of Peace, organised by the Brahma Kumaris Poland. The evening was centred on the theme “Peace Begins Within” and brought meaningful reflections on peace, meditation, resilience and the power of one individual to create positive change.
Sister Jayanti shared that peace can spread just like fashion. She explained that everything begins with one person. Just as a small pebble creates ripples when it falls into a pond, one peaceful thought and one peaceful action can create positive ripples in the world.
Speaking about inner strength, she said that it is important to make the soul resilient. Just as we exercise our muscles to make them stronger, we can also exercise our mind through meditation. This helps us develop stability, strength and focus, so that we are not easily shaken by the situations happening around us.
She also highlighted the importance of staying connected with our inner self. When we lose touch with ourselves, we also lose contact with our inner peace, and our attention becomes focused only on the outside world. This can lead to increased materialism, consumerism, exploitation and violence.
Sister Jayanti further shared that our conscience speaks very softly, while our emotions can speak very loudly. To hear the voice of our conscience clearly, we need to practise silence, peace and meditation. This helps us listen within and make better choices.
Speaking about how to face disappointment, she encouraged everyone to look at difficult situations as opportunities to learn. Instead of thinking, “This is a failure” or “This is a loss,” she suggested asking ourselves, “What is this situation teaching me?” and “What can I learn from this?”
The evening in Warsaw offered a simple and powerful reminder that peace in the world begins with peace within ourselves. Through meditation, inner stability and conscious choices, each individual can become a source of peace and create positive ripples in the world.
