On September 6th, a meaningful and impactful program - Divyangjan Seva Volunteer Training & Inclusive Engagement was conducted at Vaikunth Lighthouse, Chennai. Organized by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya – Education Wing (Chennai Adyar Centre), the initiative aimed to equip volunteers with practical skills and spiritual awareness to compassionately serve individuals who are hearing-impaired, visually impaired, or intellectually challenged.
The training brought together 50 dedicated volunteers who engaged in hands-on sessions focused on inclusive communication and value-based interactions. The program emphasized not just service, but service with deep empathy, understanding, and inner values.
Key highlights of the day included learning basic sign language and visual navigation methods, along with gaining awareness about intellectual disabilities and behavioral support strategies. Volunteers participated in thoughtfully designed activities such as the 3D Braille Model Exhibition for tactile learning as well. Other creative engagements included a Puzzle Game to foster teamwork and cognitive stimulation, Quote Writing for personal reflection, a 30 Virtue Writing Challenge to express core values, and a Token Game that rewarded kindness, cooperation, and effort.
The program successfully certified a new batch of volunteers who are now better prepared to serve the Divyangjan community with confidence, compassion, and creativity.
