As a researcher in phytochemistry living in Bangalore, my journey through meditation and philosophy has shaped how I understand life and the mind. My practice, from Vipassana to Sāṅkhya and Rajyoga, gave me deep insights into consciousness and the beauty of living in harmony with nature and the Supreme.
Hi, I’m Siddharth. I work with plants and phytochemistry, focusing on secondary plant compounds. I’m based in Bangalore. When I learned about this particular program, I was very curious to understand it more deeply. It helped me gain a better understanding of the constitution of our world — and, in parallel, the constitution of our body and mind.
At the theoretical level, it helped me see the differences between what we assume and what the reality actually is. This knowledge alone allows one to gain universal insights into why an individual behaves in a certain manner. It helps in practicing greater harmony, and makes it easier to visualize how life can be more serene and more harmonious with the nature around us.
I was introduced to meditation, and to the concept of meditation through various schools of thought. I practiced Vipassana for some time, studied Sāṅkhya philosophy for a while, and eventually, I was given the opportunity to experience Rajyoga here.
Through all these mediums, I’ve come to understand the universality of the Supreme. I would say I’ve gained a great amount of knowledge. More than anything else, it feels like being in a wonderful classroom — a truly great course.
