Meditation for the World – Trust & Unity

World Meditation Day 2025

The United Nations has chosen 21 December as World Meditation Day. Brahma Kumaris has been teaching Rajyoga Meditation for over 88 years.

Rajyoga is a gentle way to remember who we truly are — peaceful, powerful beings — and to connect with the Supreme, so that our thoughts naturally begin to heal the world around us.

Rajyoga Journey

Inwards. Upwards. Outwards.

Rajyoga meditation is one powerful way of building a relationship with that peace.

Step 1 • Inwards

Know the Inner Being

I see myself as a soul — a conscious point of light, originally peaceful and pure.

Step 2 • Upwards

Connect with the Divine

It’s a gentle “union” with the Supreme. Through this connection, we begin to experience stability, clarity, and a sense of belonging to something greater.

Step 3 • Outwards

Share with the World

And with time, that inner shift becomes visible in our actions, our relationships, and the world around us.

Rajyoga Meditation – Frequently Asked Questions

Short, practical answers to some of the most common questions about Rajyoga meditation and its impact on our lives and the world.

These questions are meant to give clarity and also encourage you to experiment with meditation in your own way, in your own daily routine.

1. What is the One-Minute Silence practice in Rajyoga meditation? +
It’s a gentle pause we take for a minute every hour to check our thoughts and reset our mind to peace. Just take a moment to focus on your inner being, realise your original qualities, and come to the present. This simple practice helps you remain fresh and light throughout the day.
2. My schedule is very hectic. How can I make time for meditation? +
You don’t need hours. Even a few minutes of stillness, before work or in between tasks, can reset your energy. Meditation adds clarity and inner strength, so the rest of your day actually flows more smoothly and efficiently.
3. Is it really possible to meditate with my eyes open? +
Yes. In Rajyoga meditation you can stay fully awake, alert, and aware — even with your eyes open. It is a practice you can carry into daily life, while working, speaking, or travelling, without needing to withdraw from the world.
4. Can meditation truly contribute to global peace and harmony, and how? +
Yes. Peace begins with the individual. When even a small group practices pure thoughts, words, and actions, it creates a powerful ripple effect. Studies show that even around 6% of people working on their inner world can shift external outcomes at a big level. Through meditation, we radiate calmness, choose kinder words, and act more selflessly — helping the world move towards greater peace and harmony.
5. How does meditation benefit the youth? +
It strengthens concentration, emotional balance, and decision-making. In a noisy, fast-paced world, meditation gives young minds the power to stay focused, calm, and clear — so they can respond wisely instead of reacting impulsively.
6. I feel satisfied in my life. Why do I still need meditation? +
If you already have peace and success, meditation becomes a way to share that abundance with the world. It strengthens your inner reservoir so you can give more — not just wealth or ideas, but also wisdom, stability, and love — qualities deeply needed in today’s world.
7. How do nature and the animal kingdom benefit when we meditate? +
Our peaceful thoughts emit subtle energy that reaches all living beings. Nature responds to human vibrations. When we radiate calmness, care, and respect, the environment gradually begins to reflect that harmony, supporting life in a more balanced way.
8. What is the cost of learning this meditation practice? +
It is offered as a service, without any fees. Meditation is a gift — shared freely, with love. You are welcome to learn and practice without any charge.
9. Does the Divine exist, and how can I develop a deeper relationship? +
Time for silence to go inside and reflect and to be able to hear the silent voice from up above that happens through meditation and so the awakening in which we begin to experience the presence of the divine and more than that a journey in which we develop and stronger and is always there and available for us to give us all that we need through the relationship with the one that too comes about through meditation.
