Thousands Celebrate International Day of Yoga 2026 at Red Fort with Yoga, Meditation and a Message of Healthy Ageing

New Delhi, 21 June 2026: Thousands of people gathered at the historic Red Fort, Delhi, to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2026 with great enthusiasm and spiritual energy. The event was organised by Brahma Kumaris in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, with the support of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and the Archaeological Survey of India. The celebration was based on this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

The programme began with a peaceful Rajyoga Meditation session, creating an atmosphere of positivity and inner peace. Participants from different walks of life came together to experience the benefits of yoga, meditation, music, and spiritual learning.

The event featured soulful musical performances by renowned singers Harish Moyal and BK Chaand Bajaj, which inspired the audience and filled the venue with uplifting vibrations. Senior teachers of the Brahma Kumaris shared valuable messages on healthy living, inner strength, and spiritual well-being.

A special highlight of the programme was the live telecast of the address by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Participants also actively took part in the Common Yoga Protocol, followed by a collective meditation session and meaningful pledges for peace, healthy ageing, and a nasha-mukt (drug-free) society.

Several distinguished guests graced the occasion and addressed the gathering, including:

  • Shri Praveen Khandelwal, Member of Parliament
  • Dr. Mahesh Dadhich, CEO, National Medicinal Plants Board
  • Dr. Deepak Vohra, Former Indian Ambassador
  • Ms. Lena Bodewein, Foreign Correspondent, ARD German Television & Radio
  • Dr. Abdul Qayum, Deputy CEO, National Medicinal Plants Board

The speakers appreciated the efforts of Brahma Kumaris in promoting holistic health, spiritual awareness, and positive values through yoga and meditation. They encouraged people to adopt yoga as a way of life for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
