Munni Didi was born on October 15, 1950 in a religious family of Kolkata. Her worldly name is Lakshmi, but since childhood everyone affectionately called her “Munni Behn”; this became her identity. She came in contact with Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in the year 1959. By recognizing the Supreme Almighty Father, she came to know the importance of his teachings – knowledge (gyan), yoga (meditation), dharna (inculcation of divine virtues) and service (seva). Thereafter, by following lifelong celibacy, she dedicated her entire life in divine services.
She had the great fortune of getting sustenance from the corporeal founder of the organization, Brahma Baba and Adi Devi Mateshwari Jagdamba Saraswati. In 1969, Dadi Prakashmani became the chief administrator of the organization after Brahma Baba became avyakt. In the same year, she took training in the first group of special teachers training program for girls in Mount Abu. Thereafter, she entered the field of divine services in Madhuban itself. While doing seva, Dadi Prakashmani and Didi Manmohini gave her loving sustenance and kept her with them in seva.
She showed loyalty, obedience, honesty and immense wisdom by being tireless in divine services. As a result, she received the love, co-operation and blessings of all the senior Dadis, Dadas and the Godly family. By being cooperative with the Dadis in the services of the Yagya/institution, Didi received special responsibilities because of her qualities of being carefree, fearless, selfless and humble. She always showed efficiency in her tasks of administration and became a role model of equality, forgiveness, love and goodwill for all.
Munni Didi also visited all the major places in the country and abroad with Dadi Prakashmani. From the very beginning, she had the great fortune of doing services along with Didi Manmohini and Dadi Prakashmani. Being tireless, she contributed towards every kind of service. She had great affection for Dadi Prakashmani, the chief administrator of the organization; she learned all the arts of administration from her.
Paying full attention to Dadi, she served and took care of her with great love and affection, due to which she received the fortune of many divine services. She imbibed their specialties in her life, so she is an example of truthfulness and cleanliness for all the Brahmavats (Divine family). She takes care of every small and big matter of the Yagya and is always making everyone content by tirelessly serving with her happily.
She is giving the full return of the sustenance received from Brahma Baba, Mama, Didi and Dadi, by taking full care of the Yagya with her farsighted, sharp intellect, tireless serving spirit and making her full contribution for its development and prosperity. She has the amazing art of doing and getting every task of Yagya done smoothly. She is a skilled administrator, advisor and an able manager. She has the unique ability to organize the biggest events. Her intelligence is as sharp as a computer. She takes care of all the needs of all the dedicated sisters and brothers whilst taking care of the buildings of the Yagya/Institution.
She is a member of the Management Committee and Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation. She renders her tireless services by keeping everyone satisfied while taking care of every small and big matter of the Yagya. This is the reason why all the brothers and sisters lovingly call her ‘Munni Didi’.
At present, BK Munni Didi serves as the Additional Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris, continuing her legacy of tireless service with deep love and spiritual maturity.
