The heart of London, Trafalgar Square, once again shimmered with light, love, and unity as the 25th annual Diwali on Trafalgar Square illuminated the city with the spirit of togetherness and spiritual awakening. Organized by the Mayor of London’s Office in collaboration with the Diwali in London team, the grand celebration brought together people from various cultures and faiths to rejoice in the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and unity over division.
This year, Chinmaya Mission chaired the Diwali in London Committee, comprising 14 major Hindu organizations, with the Brahma Kumaris playing an especially inspiring and integral role. Under the guidance of Senior Rajyoga Teachers BK Jaymini, BK Deepti, and BK Urvashi, and with the support of over 30 BK members from Global Cooperation House and local centers, the Brahma Kumaris offered a deeply spiritual dimension to the festival’s celebrations.
A special highlight of the Brahma Kumaris’ participation was the “Glimpses of the Goddesses” exhibition, which drew immense appreciation. The exhibit featured three main experiences — education on the eight divine powers, a meditative encounter with living goddesses symbolizing divinity and inner strength, and the inspiring “Shakti Chakra” activity encouraging all to imbibe divine virtues.
The Rajyoga Meditation Zone, facilitated by the Brahma Kumaris, became a peaceful haven where many visitors experienced moments of profound inner silence and self-awareness — a true celebration of Diwali’s deeper spiritual essence.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed, “At a time when the world faces waves of hatred and division, this family festival brings us together in the spirit of love and hope. Happy Diwali! That is why it is so special to celebrate here, at the world’s most famous square.”
In a touching finale, the Brahma Kumaris led a “Pause for Peace” meditation, during which thousands joined in collective silence, transforming Trafalgar Square into a sanctuary of serenity and spiritual vibrations.
The event stood not only as a symbol of cultural harmony but also as a radiant reminder that the true light of Diwali shines within — the light of peace, purity, and unity in the human soul.
