I request the people of India to reiterate our resolve that we have to save every drop of water. Also, we should give equal emphasis on recycling of water. Just as our children have made cleanliness a movement, they can help save water by becoming ‘Jal Yodhas’ (water warriors). Be it the construction of a check dam or rain water harvesting, in addition to collective efforts, individual efforts are also important. For example, in the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, at least 75 ‘Amrit Sarovars’ (rivers) can be made in every district of our country. Some of the old lakes can be rejuvenated and some new ones can be dug. More than 94,000 water bodies have been identified under the ‘Mission Amrit Sarovar’, out of which work has started on 55,887 reservoirs.
The dedicated active participation of the Brahma Kumaris organisation in achieving the goals of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is highly commendable. I heartily accept the conception and commitment of the Brahma Kumaris organisation towards the nation.
Shri Narendra Modi
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India
The Ministry of Jal Shakti runs a simple campaign “Catch the Rain” related to rain water harvesting. Whenever it rains and wherever it does, we have to save the water. It is not the responsibility of any one person, but of all of us to collect every single drop of rain in our house through “Rainwater Harvesting”.
Come, make water conservation a part of our life and move towards Construction of India. This is our planet and together we all can save it. Let us take an oath to save every drop of water today in the nectar time of the 75th year of independent India.
Our mothers and sisters living in the villages used to spend an important part of their lifetime in the struggle for water! But now due to the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Government of India has ensured pure drinking water in every house from Leh to Kanyakumari.
The Brahma Kumaris organisation will also join in this great work and take it forward by being our ally in making this campaign a success.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat
Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India
