On 21 June 2026, a meaningful session on resilience, compassionate listening, and positive responses to the climate crisis brought participants together in a supportive and reflective environment. The programme emphasized the importance of creating spaces where individuals can openly share their experiences, concerns, and hopes while developing the inner strength needed to face today’s challenges.
Experienced facilitators Gale and Renuka from Sustaining All Life and Re-evaluation Counselling guided a series of Listening Circles, providing a safe and nurturing space for participants to express themselves freely and engage in deep, respectful listening. Through this process, attendees experienced the value of being truly heard and gained new insights by listening to the experiences of others.
Building on the theme of resilience, Sister Maureen of the Brahma Kumaris shared inspiring thoughts on developing the inner resources needed to navigate difficult times. She explained that true resilience comes from within and can be strengthened by listening to one’s conscience, living according to one’s values, and nurturing inner wellbeing through meditation, prayer, and quiet reflection.
The session highlighted that awareness of global challenges alone is not enough. Resilience provides the hope, clarity, and energy needed to take meaningful and positive action. Participants were encouraged to strengthen their inner world and support one another through compassionate listening, enabling them to respond more effectively to the climate crisis and contribute to a sustainable future.
The programme concluded with a shared understanding that lasting change begins within each individual and is strengthened through meaningful and caring connections with others. The insights on inner resilience and the power of deep listening inspired participants to enhance their personal wellbeing, build stronger communities, and work together towards a more sustainable world.
