Our Dadi, sweet Dadi, beloved Dadi—she is a mirror for us all. A reflection of the best within us, she guided us with the depth of an ocean, shaping the definition of leadership in ways that are extraordinary and profound.
In her youth, everyone knew her as ‘Rama,’ a name as simple and pure as her beginnings. But only God knew the destiny that awaited her—a destiny where she would become the wonderful jewel, Prakashmani, destined to enlighten the world. True to her name, Dadi set an exceptional example of leadership through motherhood, blending power with nurturing love.

Dadi had a unique gift—making every person she met feel an immediate closeness. From the very first meeting, Dadi turned strangers into beloved brothers and sisters for life. It was this warmth that laid the foundation for a strong, global institution.
From 1937 to 1969, Brahma Baba laid the roots of a Godly university. But under Dadi’s leadership, this institution blossomed, spreading to nearly 100 countries with 150 centers. Dadi’s guidance saw the rise of 2,500 Rajyoga meditation centers and 20,000 classes across India (which is now more than 5500 centeres in 110 Countries). With thousands of brothers and sisters dedicating their lives to service, millions of families now lead spiritual and pure lives, seeking spiritual knowledge and meditation practice at these centers every day.

“God, the doer, is doing through me,” Dadi often said. “Dadi is only the medium.” It was this profound humility that defined her leadership. For all of us, Dadi was not just a leader—she was our mother. She didn’t connect people to herself but to God, which is why Dadi had no followers—only those she guided toward the divine.
