Light the lamp of inner wisdom this Diwali 🪔. Embrace peace, love & joy as you awaken your spiritual light and create a new, divine world. ✨
As Diwali approaches, most of us find ourselves busy — cleaning the house, shopping for new clothes, and making long lists of sweets and gifts. There’s a special joy in decorating our homes and watching the flicker of lamps fill every corner with light.
But amidst all this brightness, have you ever wondered — what about the light within us? We spend hours cleaning our homes before inviting Goddess Lakshmi, but do we spend even a few moments cleaning the mind, where she truly wishes to dwell?
Every year, families gather to celebrate Diwali with immense joy. It’s a time when all worries are forgotten as people dress in new clothes, share sweets, and exchange gifts. Homes are beautifully lit with earthen lamps, candles, and electric lights, while prayers are offered to Shri Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh. For many, it also marks the beginning of a new financial year, as old account books are closed and new ones are opened, symbolizing fresh beginnings.
But beyond all these traditions, there’s a gentle question we can ask ourselves:
Is this enough to bring long lasting happiness and prosperity into our lives?
Is cleansing the house enough, or must the person inviting Lakshmi also be clean — pure in thoughts, words and action?
Diwali is celebrated as the joyful homecoming of Shri Ram to Ayodhya after the victory over Ravana. Lamps were lit across the city to welcome him. Over time, the day also came to include Lakshmi-Pujan and the custom of closing old ledgers and opening new ones—a sign of fresh beginnings.
However, there is a deeper, spiritual event at the Confluence Age. At the time of Kaliyug where darkness prevails everywhere, Shiv (Deepraj—the Supreme Light) descends and lights the “lamps” of souls with true Knowledge and Rajyoga. He teaches us to see ourselves as souls, children of the Supreme Soul, and helps us conquer our inner darkness with knowledge. When we connect with Him through Rajyoga, the intellect becomes pure and bright — this is the real Deepawali, the festival of lights within.
In Brahma Kumaris, it is said that the first house you must clean is your mind. The real cleaning begins when we sweep away the inner dust of anger, ego, and lust, and replace it with love, peace, and purity. Lamps can light up our homes, but only divine knowledge and remembrance can light up our lives.
When we purify the mind, the Inner wealth or Laxmi of happiness and virtues doesn’t just visit for a night — it stays forever.
There was a time when Bharat was known as the “Golden Sparrow.” It was the land of Shri Lakshmi and Shri Narayan — a world of peace, abundance, and love. Every heart was clean, and every home was full of light.
But as we drifted into body-consciousness, we lost our divine virtues. Though we have modern comforts today, we see less contentment and more stress. The real poverty is not a lack of wealth — it is the poverty of virtues.
Because, where there is impurity, there cannot be prosperity.
To bring Shri Lakshmi back, we must restore the lost purity of our minds and hearts. Just like traders close their old ledgers and start new ones on Diwali. Spiritually, we must close the old account of negativity and begin a new record filled with pure, elevated actions. When we act with honesty, humility, and compassion, we start earning true fortune — blessings that never fade.
The real Diwali is not about one night of light — it’s about an inner awakening. Shiva, the Supreme Light, comes at the Confluence Age to teach us how to conquer darkness and return to our original state of purity.
Through His teachings of Rajyoga, we learn to transform from ordinary humans into divine beings. When every soul regains its light, that is the dawn of the Golden Age — the real Diwali of the world.
So this Diwali, let’s not stop at cleaning our homes or lighting lamps.
Let’s also clean our hearts and light the lamp of purity and peace within.
When the inner light of the soul shines bright with God’s remembrance, our lives become radiant.
